Cover Reveal

{Cover Reveal} Touching Fate by Brenda Drake

You know we love cover reveals around here because we tend to get excited about really gorgeous covers for books almost as much as we do about the books themselves. This week’s cover reveal is very exciting, we have the reveal of the incomparable Brenda Drake’s lovely cover for her YA novel Touching Fate coming from Entangled Teen in October.

We happen to be a big fan of Brenda Drake around here and her #PitchWars, #PitMad and all other writer-related awesome she helps coordinate through her website. She is such a huge part of the writing and publishing community with all she’s involved in it’s hard to feel like you don’t know her personally if you’ve been following her for any length of time (in fact, a post on her site led to my current job trial, so I feel I owe her a personal thanks), but we’re all especially thrilled about her two upcoming YA titles with Entangled Teen, the first of which we are here to reveal today (and I say that NOT based on the fact that I happen to be one of their awesome interns but, because I really am genuinely excited about these books and about Brenda’s work.)About the Book

Touching Fate
by Brenda Drake
Release Date: 10/13/15
Entangled Teen: Crave

Summary from Goodreads:

Aster Layne believes in physics, not psychics. A tarot card reading on the Ocean City Boardwalk should have been a ridiculous, just-for-fun thing. It wasn’t. Aster discovers she has a very unscientific gift—with a simple touch of the cards, she can change a person’s fate.

Reese Van Buren is cursed. Like the kind of old-school, centuries-old curse that runs in royal families. Every firstborn son is doomed to die on his eighteenth birthday—and Reese’s is coming up fast. Bummer. He tries to distract himself from his inevitable death…only to find the one person who can save him.

Aster doesn’t know that the hot Dutch guy she’s just met needs her help–or that he’s about to die.

But worst of all…she doesn’t know that her new gift comes with dark, dark consequences that can harm everyone she loves.

And so….

          Without further ado…

Well, I could include SOME further ado…

BUT, it would likely be LITTLE ado about SOMETHING really cool…

and so…

I give you…

The Cover Reveal

Touching Fate by Brenda Drake

[ I’m going to pause just for a moment and sigh here folks. I’m a sucker for teen covers that are gutsy enough to include faces staring the camera down, daring you to try and unravel their secrets. I’m also a lover of redheads. I basically plan to be re-incarnated as Amy Pond. No not Karen Gillan. Amy Pond. It’s possible. Because Time and Universe stuff. But that’s not even what get’s me on this one, it’s the eyes! Did you catch those amber colored eyes? Yes, the rest of the design is spot on, with a fresh layout, fun font, etc, but those eyes have me chomping at the bit to know what is going on in this book, and I can’t wait to find out more! ]

About the Author

Brenda Drake

Brenda Drake, the youngest of three children, grew up an Air Force brat and the continual new kid at school until her family settled in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Brenda’s fondest memories growing up is of her eccentric, Irish grandmother’s animated tales, which gave her a strong love for storytelling.

So it was only fitting that she would choose to write young adult and middle-grade novels with a bend toward the fantastical.

When Brenda’s not writing or doing the social media thing, she’s haunting libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops or reading someplace quiet and not at all exotic (much to her disappointment).
